Downtown Photo Contest Announced!

Calling all photographers! Grab your camera, cell phone or tablets and snap some photos of the downtown neighborhood. We are looking for a photo to use as the cover of the new 2015 Downtown Community Directory, published by STL Programs for the DNA. This booklet will be published in March and distributed throughout the downtown residential community.

What Do You Win?

The winner will have their photo printed on the cover of the Directory, with their name credited inside the booklet. The winner will also receive dinner for two at a downtown restaurant.

How Do You Submit?

Submit your photo to JeffF@Mirasmart.com (the publisher) by Fri. Feb. 27

Rules: Contest is open to residents of Downtown, members of the Downtown Neighborhood Association, and owners/employees of downtown businesses. Entrants can submit photos of a home/loft/apartment, building, landmark or architectural element located in Downtown St. Louis. The photo must have been taken by the person submitting it. By entering a photo in the contest, you are agreeing that if selected, you will allow your photo to be used in future Downtown Neighborhood Association publications, posted on the DNA Facebook page, twitter and website. Photo credit will be given for these photos also. Please note that the photo selected may be artistically cropped or altered for publication.

Format/Specifications: We are more likely to use a photo which is vertical (portrait) in dimension to fit the cover. Please submit high resolution (200 dpi or higher) photos in JPG format. Ideal size would be 5” wide by 7 1⁄2” deep.

Selecting a winner: Winning photo will be selected by DNA Board Members and representatives of the publisher, STL Programs. The winner will be announced in early March.

7th Ward Candidate Forum

Join us for a discussion with the candidates for the 7th Ward seat on the Board of Aldermen on Tuesday, February 24 at 6:30pm. Everyone in attendance will be given an opportunity to ask the candidates questions about their vision for the 7th Ward and the City of St. Louis. This Ward covers a large portion of downtown, and the new Alderman will be very influential on many things occurring in our neighborhood.

The forum will be held on the 3rd floor in the Carnegie Room of the Downtown Central Library, and it will be moderated by the League of Women Voters –  St. Louis.
